Assistant Director of Finance
Location: Chandler, AZ (South Chandler/Sun Lakes) 100% in-office
Salary: $105,000 - $110,000
Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is actively seeking an experienced Manager to lead key financial operations, support business growth, and help build a strong, collaborative team. This is a hands-on leadership role where the successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Finance to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective budgeting, and sound financial decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.
- Prepare and review financial statements, reports, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Partner with the Director of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, audits, and special projects.
- Help protect company assets by maintaining strong internal controls and financial processes.
- Monitor department budgets and analyze financial results to support business goals.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members while fostering a positive team culture.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
- Review tax filings and ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.
- Track inventory and oversee compliance with company billing and credit policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Take on additional projects and responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Hospitality, resort, hotel, or club accounting experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting best practices.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and cash management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with QuickBooks, JD Edwards, or similar accounting software is a plus.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
